Daily Safety Huddles UPDATED: A daily huddle with 38 employees enables leadership to develop situational awareness and a collective understanding of the state of operations. It is not a meeting; it is an ongoing process to look back, follow up, learn and take a look forward at issues and practices involving patient safety, employee safety and quality outcomes. What It Takes to Support One Patient Cottage employees had the idea for a video to show all the different roles of individuals who care for a patient in the hospital. It demonstrates the depth of teamwork and interconnectedness in the hospital. Our COO presented this video to the Board of Directors, and our CEO showcased it at employee forums. Supplemental Materials Administrator on Call In the event of an issue or emergency, employees always have a phone number for the Administrator on Call in addition to a 24/7 house supervisor. The AOC rotations schedule is posted to every computer home screen via Cottage View and is published in the monthly newsletter, Dates & Dialogue . Magnet Posters for Additional Nurse Communication UPDATED: Cottage Health nurses have the opportunity to display their research and ideas at the annual Magnet Quality Celebration.
