The Little Cottages Less than a block from the emergency department, the Little Cottages serve the families of Cottage Health patients with overnight accommodations provided in a quiet, supportive environment. Guests stay in the furnished cottages at no cost, and are usually referred by medical social services, case management or spiritual care at SBCH. Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Foundation The foundation is a not-for-profit organization that safeguards the hospital’s charitable assets and supports a number of carefully chosen efforts, both inside and outside the hospital. Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital UPDATED: Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital is located near Santa Barbara in the adjacent community of Goleta. In the 1960s, Goleta began adding new industry to its rich history of agricultural success. The “Good Land,” as it is also known, became home to number of aerospace and technology companies. The population has been growing ever since, and Cottage Health recently constructed a new, expanded state-of-the-art facility to provide enhanced care for the community. Some of the features include: • NEW: 3D Mammography. • An Emergency Department with 20 patient rooms, most of which are private, and board- certified emergency physicians. • 52 private rooms for medical, surgical and intensive care. • Seven surgical suites – State-of-the-art facilities support facial reconstruction and orthopedics programs as well as general and plastic surgeries. • Healing Arts – Local artwork is incorporated throughout the hospital to comfort, inspire and celebrate the beauty of Goleta Valley. Going the Extra Mile for Mom UPDATED: More than 400 employees, families, former patients and community members made the 2nd Annual Miles for Moms 5K a dashing success and helped raise more than $54,000 for GVCH. “This was such a great community event with so many families and multiple generations running and walking together -- from a two month old baby in a stroller to grandmas in their 80s.
